🍄 Struggling with Morning Pages? This has saved me

🍄 Morning Pages, Evolved

Hi Reader,

As you probably know, I’m part of the team currently running Inspiration Alchemy, a 12-week psychedelic-friendly journey through The Artist’s Way.

A big part of this process is Morning Pages—daily, free-form journaling that helps clear the mind, unlock creativity, and process emotions.

But here’s the thing: life gets busy.

Between helping run this course, my own projects, and everything going on with my mum, I’ve found it hard to keep up with all the commitments The Artist’s Way asks of us. A few times I've struggled to find the time to sit down and fill three longhand pages, and a couple of times I missed my pages completely.

So, I started experimenting…

📌 Enter PageGhost – My Morning Pages AI Assistant

Rather than handwriting my pages every day, I began dictating them into an AI chat instead. This meant I could:

Do them faster – I hit 750 words (three pages) in about 5 minutes.
Do them on the go – Walking, getting sunlight, moving my body.
Do them even when exhausted – One day, I just spoke into my phone from bed.
Get extra benefits – AI tracks themes, to-dos, and insights—which I used to do manually.

I called it PageGhost because it writes my pages for me, yet it’s invisible, intagible... like a ghost. It feels like a modern upgrade to The Artist’s Way—a way of adapting the practice to fit into real, messy, full lives.

🛠 How to Try It Yourself

1️⃣ Start a New Chat in ChatGPT

• Open ChatGPT and start a fresh conversation.

2️⃣ Paste This Starter Prompt:

“Hey, I want you to be my Morning Pages AI Scribe, and I’m calling you PageGhost. Every day, I’ll dictate or type my morning pages entry/entries, and I want you to:
1. Capture my entry/entries exactly as I say them.
2. Wait for me to finish today’s entries before summarizing.
• I will signify when I’m done by saying something like:
• “Okay, that’s it for today.”
• “I’m going to leave the pages there for today.”
• “That’s my last one.”
• Don’t summarize early—just wait for my signal.
3. If I give an entry without having wrapped up, just say:
• “Got it. Ready for the next one.”
4. When I say I’m done for the day, then:
• Summarize key themes from my writing.
• Extract any action items (tasks, decisions, things to follow up on).
• Track recurring patterns and insights across entries.
• Keep a rolling to-do list and mark things as done when I mention completing them.
• Provide a rough word count for the session.
Everything should stay in this same chat so you can track my progress over time. Let’s roll, PageGhost.”

3️⃣ Start Writing or Dictating

• Speak or type naturally.

• PageGhost will capture everything without interruption.

4️⃣ Signal When You’re Done

Say something like:

“That’s it for today.”
“I’m stopping here.”

Then, PageGhost will:

Summarize key themes.
List any action items.
Track recurring patterns.
Give you a word count.

5️⃣ Keep Going & Track Your Insights

• Continue logging your entries in the same chat each day.

• Over time, PageGhost will start recognizing recurring themes, patterns, and insights in your writing.

• Use it as a tool for self-reflection, tracking progress, and noticing what keeps coming up.

• Check the summaries to see if any action items or ideas stand out to revisit.

🔹 Why This Has Been a Game-Changer for Me

I’ve been using this for almost a week now, and honestly, it’s been a lifesaver. This approach keeps me consistent while still giving me the benefits of Morning Pages—clearing mental clutter, organizing thoughts, and unlocking insights.

I’m not saying this should replace traditional Morning Pages for everyone, but if you’re struggling with time, energy, or consistency, give it a try. It might just be the thing that keeps you showing up.

Would love to hear what you think if you try it—let me know! 🚀

Hi Reader, Welcome to this week's Maps of the Mind Newsletter... 🍄 First Steps To Psychedelics The biggest barrier to positive psychedelic experiences isn't the substances themselves, but a lack of informed guidance. While this newsletter often explores topics for the seasoned psychonaut already on the path, today's newsletter focuses on providing the essential foundation: the first steps into psychedelics. Entering the world of psychedelics can feel overwhelming, but thoughtful first steps...

Hi Reader, Welcome to this week's Maps of the Mind Newsletter... 🍄 인연 (Inyeon): Threads of Connection Some people enter your life for a moment and stay with you forever. A glance, a sentence, a strange moment of timing.Something brings you together, and somehow, in some way, they stay with you. There’s a word for that in Korean: 인연 - Inyeon Inyeon means something like fateful connection. It refers to the invisible threads that tie people together. The sense of meaningful encounters. 🍄 The Let Me Theory Hi Reader, After last week’s Let Them newsletter, a few of you wrote back and let me know that the idea resonated with you. The idea was simple but deep: Let other people make their choices and live their lives, and stop making it your job or responsibility to manage or control what they are doing. I mentioned the book that inspired the newsletter, The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. Turns out the book is actually in two parts. Let Them, and... Let Me. Let Them is about...
